Pastor Justin K. Young
At a very young age, Pastor Justin K. Young accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. At the age of 16, he rededicated his life to the Lord and was filled with the Holy Spirit. Pastor Young is a proud graduate of From the Heart Christian School (Class of 2007). During his time in the school, his call to ministry was confirmed and his call to pastor was born. After high school, Pastor Young earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland, College Park. He completed his graduate studies at Strayer University, where he earned his Master of Business Administration. Pastor Young is happily married to Minister Tameka Young, and they have one daughter, Chasity Kardyn and one son, Justin K. Young, II.
Professionally, Pastor Young has had one place of employment, From the Heart Church Ministries®. Since 2010, he has held various positions in the ministry to include schoolteacher, staff minister, and Membership Care Coordinator.
“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught,
abounding therein with thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6-7
On Sunday, July 19, 2026, at our 5th quadrennial General Church Meeting, Bishop John A. Cherry, II retired from the pastorate and installed Pastor Young as the new pastor. As the third pastor of the Parent Church, Pastor Young is committed to keep the church on its foundation, to be a church that loves God, hates sin and loves to give.
Pastor Young’s greatest desire is to love and serve the people that God called him to shepherd, and to feed God’s people the knowledge of Jesus. He considers it a high honor to continue the work that was started in 1981, and he is grateful for the opportunity to pastor the church that made him who he is.
