A relationship was established between Bishop P. James Herbert and the Episcopal Pastor Emeritus in 1987 at the First International Institute for Pastors and Leaders hosted by the church. In 1990, Episcopal Pastor Emeritus and Mrs. Cherry visited India and held a three-day revival meeting. They visited India again in 1997 to teach at a meeting coordinated by Bishop Herbert.
In July 1999 when Episcopal Pastor Emeritus Cherry announced that he was leaving his former denomination, Bishop Herbert also decided to leave the denomination and to become part of From the Heart Church Ministries WorldwideTM. Bishop Herbert was ordained by the Episcopal Pastor on September 12, 1999. Episcopal Pastor and Mrs. Cherry visited India again in 2000 and 2007. Bishop Herbert is faithfully submitted to the Episcopal oversight of Episcopal Pastor Cherry and the Constitution of From the Heart Church Ministries WorldwideTM.
On November 11, 2007, Episcopal Pastor Cherry consecrated Pastor Herbert as Bishop and ordained Mrs. Suseela Herbert an elder. Their son, Reverend P. Manoj Ravi Kanth, was ordained on September 12, 1999.

The work in India continues to expand and several branch churches have been added over the years. In spite of challenges from the local government and persecution for being Christians, Bishop Herbert continues to be a bold soldier in the furtherance of the Gospel and the church continues to move forward in bringing souls to Christ.
